What we know about you

Fossielenjagers.nl is a site for children, their parents and their teachers. You can look around here without us keeping track of who you are. There is no account to make, nothing to fill in, and we never ask for your name, your age or your address.

Below is exactly what does and does not happen when you visit this site.

What we do not measure

We use no cookies to follow visitors and there is no analytics software on the site. No Google Analytics, no adverts, no social media buttons.

The lettering, the pictures and the worksheets all come from our own server. Your browser never has to call anywhere else, and you do not have to fill anything in to download something.

The map on a fossil site page

Every fossil site page shows a small Google Maps map. That map comes from Google, not from us. As soon as it loads, Google can see your IP address and which browser you are using. We never see any of that and we cannot change it.

There is no map anywhere else on the site, so if you would rather avoid it, you can skip the fossil site pages.

What the server writes down

Like almost every server, ours writes a line for each page that is asked for: the time, the page, the IP address and the kind of browser. That is needed to fix faults and to keep misuse out.

This site is hosted by mijn.host. They keep those IP addresses and log files for up to twelve months, and longer only if something has gone wrong or the law asks for it. We use them for nothing else and we tie them to nobody.

If you email us

There is no contact form on this site. The button below simply opens your own mail program. If you write to us, your message lands in our mailbox and stays there for as long as we need it to answer you. We never hand your address to anyone else and we will not put you on a list.

Would you like to know what we have about you, or would you like your message thrown away? Email us and we will sort it out. If you are under sixteen, ask a parent to look along with you.

Who makes this site

Fossielenjagers.nl is made and looked after by Kokoto, a sole trader in Hilversum. Kokoto is responsible for what happens to your data, which on this site is as little as possible.
